Non-preferred foods can be intimidating, and may even cause mealtime behaviors for some children, but exploring non-preferred foods can be both fun and creative! Engage in sensory play by challenging the tactile (wet, slimy, sticky, rough, etc.), visual (how the visual presentation of food changes), and olfactory senses and increase exposures/trials of non-preferred foods by encouraging imaginary play or even an art project!
