The aMAYZing Kids Great Escape

The aMAYZing Kids Great Escape

By: Leilanie Dao

With the summer winding down, the clan from aMAYZing Kids decided it was about time to have some fun, enjoy each other’s company, and participate in a little competition.  After careful research and thought, Alin, aka the Party Planner (i mean, did you see her tribute to the 1 year remembrance of the flood?) planned an aMAYZing team- building activity via an Escape Room…

Upon arriving to the Escape Room, the clan was split up into 2 teams.  Team 1 (or was it 2?), let’s just call them Team Purple consisted of Alin, Veronica, Tammy, Leilanie, Michelle, and Stephanie.  They were an awesome team, they worked great together and were so darn smart!  Team 2 (or 1), aka Team Blue consisted of Leslie, Kelly, Connie, Heather, Lori, and Erica.  They too, were quite intelligent, witty, but most definitely a bunch of jokesters! Prior to entering the Chamber (insert a scary cackle here) the teams took a friendly picture together.

Unfortunately Heather is covered, but if you look closely, you can see her lovely forehead.

And without further ado…Game on! 1 hour to solve the puzzles and get out of THE CHAMBER!

Look at how beautifully the Purple Team worked together! Such intensity on their faces!

In fact, they were doing so well…and, ahem, figured they were in the lead..so they decided to stop what they were doing and take a picture! Tsk tsk…

But what did we learn from the Tortoise and the Hare story? Slow and steady wins the game!  While Team Purple were busy taking pictures (and getting in trouble for it, wink wink)…Team Blue surpasses them and wins the game.

Team Blue 1, Team Purple 0.  Whomp whomp! Good work Team Blue! We will get you guys next time!
